Neil A Buckley BIO

Neil is a C-level IT and business solutions director who has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, covering Capital Markets, Retail Financial Services, Wholesale Financial Services and Insurance. During CIO / CTO and director level roles across the globe for organisations including ING Group, General Motors, GMAC, Merrill Lynch, Bankers’ Trust and Norwich Union Neil has developed and overseen the strategic direction, development and infrastructure and initiated core business technology initiatives. As General Manager, CIO / CTO for ING Group Neil had hundreds of millions of Euros P&L accountability, many thousands of staff and was responsible for the Group’s IT strategic direction and outsourcing operations in Europe and renegotiated and reconstructed Global contracts and developed multi-vendor strategies for new world from old world transformation. He was a member of ING’s diversity, graduate training and HR councils along with the Group’s CEO. His expertise and thought leadership makes him a sought after keynote speaker at numerous events throughout industry and has written articles on the subject for leading journals.
